The Outreach Volunteer for the Immigration Services department will be involved in pursuing avenues for outreach to gain more clients and will also assist with other office tasks as needed. The volunteer will build connections in the community and find events and locations to promote the services provided by our Immigration department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coordinate hosting a promotional table at community events such as, but not limited to, church functions, schools, festivals, libraries, etc.
? Establish further contacts for Alliance and its immigration department.
? Develop contact lists of organizations or people that would be willing to partner with the Alliance's immigration department.
? Help with administrative tasks as needed.
? Be knowledgeable, or willing to learn, with immigration issues and applications like DACA and naturalization.
REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
? Strong inter-personal and public speaking skills
? A background in marketing or social services preferred
? Self motivated with an ability to work independently
? Well connected in the San Diego community a plus
? Must be able to provide your own transportation
? A desire to help others through immigration processes
? Ability to work with diverse individuals, culturally sensitive and aware.
? Friendly, outgoing, patient, and punctual
? Spanish or Arabic speaker a plus
COMMITMENT:
The position requires a minimum commitment of three months, with an expected time commitment of at least 3 outreach opportunities a month. The volunteer should be willing to work some evenings and weekends depending on events scheduled. This position will be very flexible on days and hours, depending what works with your schedule and previous commitments.

Through this position the volunteer will gain insight into the operations of a non-profit organization, and in particular, Immigration services.
