Description

The Stein Senior Center opened officially in 1974 and has been in continuous operation since then. From the very beginning, the seniors themselves were involved in the running of the center and did everything from delivering the rent check to filling up salt and pepper shakers. And it is through the commitment of our founding and current members that the Stein Senior Center continues to thrive.

Today, we provide a range of programs and services to help meet the day-to-day and long-term independent living needs of our members, including housing, health, safety, legal, and financial issues. These initiatives include, but are not limited to, an innovative Alzheimer’s early intervention program, crime victims assistance, free tax preparation, and a neighborhood food pantry. We also offer a computer lab and enrichment classes and activities from opera appreciation to belly dancing. All programs are outlined on our website.

A Look to the Future
As the Stein Senior Center looks to the future, we recognize our special obligation to the community - and we stand committed and resolved to focus on sustainability and providing the highest levels of service for many years to come.
