Reliable LEAD Volunteer Needed ASAP!!

We are actively searching for a "Lead" volunteer for our cats housed in the Petsmart in La Jolla. The qualifications required are that you be an adult, that you live in or near the La Jolla area, that you are a leader, that you are capable of training and scheduling our volunteers specifically for that store, and that you have reliable transportation. Note, you would not be working/volunteering for PetSmart, but for our cat rescue - Cat Adoption Service.

This is an extremely important job that takes great commitment and ability to work with people. You would ultimately be responsible to make sure a volunteer is there at all scheduled times. If someone does not show up, you would need to find a replacement, or be able to possibly fill in yourself. There are scheduled adoption hours on certain days where a volunteer has to be there at that time. Other days, it’s more a matter of coming in and care taking. The care taking involves thoroughly cleaning all cat condos, as well as feeding, watering, and scooping litter. You, as "Lead" volunteer would be required to know all aspects of the care taking, as well as learning how to process an adoption once an adopter has been approved. (You would not be doing the approving of potential adopters for at least 6 months).

Although this is a VOLUNTEER position, our cats depend on us to keep them clean, feed and watered, and cared for. It is not something that our volunteers can do when they feel like it. It takes many caring, reliable people to run a rescue group, and to run each store in which we do house our cats.

This job is a very fulfilling one, and we need someone who is above all, RELIABLE, commited, good at training and supervising, and will be with us hopefully long term.
