Getting to know you
Hands on is the best way to recognize issues before they become problems.

Wildlife care volunteers will be responsible for cleaning, feeding, and maintaining the health of wild orphans, injured, sick, displaced, or unwanted wild and small exotic mammals, farm animals and reptiles. Volunteers must be able to work a minimum of one 6-hour shift a week, but no more than 3 6-hour shifts a week. All applicants must have reliable transportation, be at least 16 years old, be able to lift 30 pounds, and be able to work outside during the hot Texas summer. Potential volunteers must attend an orientation meeting held on Sundays at 12 PM or by appointment. Although our busiest months are during the summer, we are seeking a few potential year-round volunteers to stay with us during the slower months. At the orientation, please be sure to let your trainer know whether you are looking for a summer or year round position. Applications will be given to potential candidates after the orientation. Please keep in mind, not all applicants will be chosen to be part of our volunteer staff. It takes a truly special person to be able to work with wild animals. Are you that person? It cannot hurt to try. The worst that can happen is that you will get a rare peek into a facility that is not open to the public for tours.
Younger volunteers are considered on a case by case basis. If you have a 12-16 year old who is gifted with animals, we will consider them for volunteer positions.
We are looking for self motivated self starting people who are able to work on their own without assistance. All training will be done on the job. No experience required. Be a part of the most exciting and challenging job on the planet! Come get WILD with us!
