The Tiyya Foundation provides basic necessities & educational opportunities to refugees, immigrants, and displaced American families in Orange County.
We are currently seeking Arabic, Farsi and Spanish translators to communicate with our refugee families.
This is an ongoing, on call opportunity.

In doing so, we hope to create a community that fosters the development of self-sufficiency, ultimately helping our program participants overcome obstacles and actively participate in society.
Description
After being uprooted, starting over can be very challenging and emotionally consuming for refugees and displaced families. Newly arrived parents struggle to navigate a foreign system in which basic daily tasks, such as public transportation, doctor's visits, grocery shopping, etc., become challenges. Furthermore, they cannot provide their children the support they need to succeed in school and feel part of our community .
Tiyya is a grassroots organization that provides programmatic support for the whole family. Led by volunteers, our vision is to create a society that is compassionate and understanding of refugee experiences through developing relationships and fostering the public’s engagement.
