The ATL 10k/20k Relay Urban Perform Volunteer

Urban Perform is excited to be the non-profit beneficiary of the Run the ATL 10k/20k relay race in Castleberry Hill! We are looking for excited and eager volunteers to help out on race day! Volunteers will help with race day set-up, registration/packet pick up, water stations, directing runners, finish line help, race day clean up, and simillar opportunites. About UP:

Urban Perform (UP) is a non-profit organization making exercise accessible and affordable to the underserved communiteis of English Avenue, Vine City, and Washington Park in Atlanta. We are working to demolish Atlanta's 'fitness deserts' by making exercise accessible and affordable.

We began because residents in English Avenue asked for a safe place to exercise. In January 2012, we officially opened our doors in the shared space of a church with a focus on youth fitness. Due to community involvement we quickly added Zumba and group fitness classes for adults and families. Over the course of the last four years, we have grown significantly due to community members attending the $2 classes (kids under 18 exercise for free), a grant from the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, GoodSports, the United Way, our annual fundraisers and individual donors. In 2014, thanks to the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation grant and the Miami Dolphins equipment donations, we remodeled an abandoned gas station in Vine City to create a full service fitness center. Within the first 2 years, we have served over 1,300 individuals who completed over 10,000 workouts in this location. Our youth programs are now mobile serving over 600 students in 2015. In 2016, we will open a second location and triple the size of our youth programs through a partnership with After School All Stars.
