Come help make CLARA a better, more beautiful place! Each season, we identify a few projects to improve our tenants and audiences' experience of this 100-year-old building. This summer, paint projects and simple repairs are the order of the day: a chance to put a little of your own stamp on this new community resource. Gather at CLARA's blue front door; bring clothes that can get dirty!

About CLARA: E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts
Location:

Mission Statement
CLARA -- The E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts -- provides studio, classroom and performance space to a tenant mix of Sacramento's Performing Arts, Visual/Media Arts, and Cultural/Educational organizations at below-market-level rates, providing them with added ability to invest in additional production resources, expand their revenue-producing programming, or otherwise pursue options for further fiscal stability. Furthermore, having multiple arts groups working under one roof provides organizations with opportunities for partnership - business partnerships that foster economies of scale as well as creative partnerships that will generate unique work - and result in a more vibrant, vital arts community in Sacramento.
Description
CLARA provides studios for both professional and community-based arts groups and a place for creative collisions and collaborations. Students in Sacramento City Unified School District have access to arts summer camps, internships, tickets and scholarships fostering interaction with professional artists in a studio environment. Classes and performances offered daily. Housed at the historic Fremont School in Midtown Sacramento, CLARA was funded by grants from the City of Sacramento and private donations, including the Raley-Teel family. It was named using a combination of Joyce Raley Teel’s mother’s name, Claire, and the Raley surname. For more information, visit claramidtown.com.
