ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are inviting committed ladies and gentlemen ages 13-over who are STRONG WRITERS to join KAPPA PHI - The Christian Service Chapter of Nu Sigma Theta (NST).

Because this is a Christian Service Chapter - it requires that the candidate join the Kingdom City Fellowship Church. Visit www.kingdomcityfellowship.org to learn about the ministry.

The KAPPA PHI Chapter of NST was formed to do random acts of kindness and formal acts of community service and involves men, women and teens from all over the world.

Here are some things members can expect to do -

  • Participate in virtual fundraising, where doing internet searches results in a donation for our organization and our charities
  • Create and/or participate in community service/social action projects locally and virtually
  • Commit to writing letters to foster care youth, seniors, members of the community who are going through crisis, children and members of the military - particularly around the holiday season
  • Teens can expect to be pen pals to children in other countries or to kids going through crisis
  • Create, lead and participate in activities for our members for the purpose of social and professional networking
  • Plan for and participate in annual events (conference, trips, brunch, fundraisers)
  • Work collaboratively with other local and virtual chapters.

Our members come to Bible Study service on Sundays from 11:30am to 1pm in Downtown Rahway. The group can meet immediately after service for an hour or they can choose another day (like Saturday).

Service projects or social events happen fairly often. The group should expect to travel to Midtown, Manhattan or Brooklyn, New York quarterly to meet/work with members of other chapters. We have a homeless outreach scheduled for December 3rd.

While there are a fair number of community service/social action themed projects - there will also be social, competitive and professional types of activities too. Our goal is to create a working community of "do-gooders" who will do good things in their communities and for the world!

Because a great deal of our work is done virtually, candidates MUST have or create a private Facebook page and an email address that is checked monthly.

Teens can use this opportunity to earn community service hours for high school.

INTERESTED? Email us at kingdomcityfellowship@gmail.com and tell us: (a) Your Name; (b) Whether You are an Adult/Teen; (c) Neighborhood you live in.
