Join Polish Hill residents and Tree Pittsburgh as we conduct maintenance activities in the West Penn Park Forest Restoration Area!
This exciting project is devoted to transforming a large portion of green space in West Penn Park from a monoculture of non-native, invasive vines to a healthy and diverse forest. Much work has already been done to remove vines and plant new trees, and much work is still needed to ensure the young trees thrive and the vines remain under control.
Activities will include uprooting vines and cutting them from trees, spreading wood chips, watering in the case of drought, and other forest restoration activities.
