The Community Learning Enhancement Institute (CLEI) Task Force, based in Pensacola, FL, is wanting to develop the Community Learning Enhancement Institute, Inc. (CLEI) on a small-scaled pilot level beginning with the CLEI's Administration and one program component - the Nautilus Learning Resource Center (NLRC). While other areas in Florida and other state locations surrounding Pensacola, FL may have dyslexia legislation and/or community-based private centers servicing the needs of children and adults with specific learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, processing disorders, etc.) and ADHD, the Pensacola, FL area is lacking in the provision of specialized therapeutic services serving individuals and their families throughout their lifespan. Far too many youth and adults with specific learning disabilities and/or ADHD are frequenting our prison systems, joining gangs, dropping out of school, wrapped up in dysfunctional lifestyles, etc. without the guidance, support, specialized and therapeutic educational curriculum and life skills necessary for successful livelihoods. Most public educational systems are only providing mere accommodations, while most private schools are providing little to no specialized instruction and assistance. So what happens to these students getting lost between the cracks?

The NLRC will be a comprehensive, multifaceted community-based facility that will provide thorough diagnostic, evaluative and prescriptive learning services and opportunities for pediatric and adult clients with specific learning disabilities, ADHD. The NLRC is designed to provide specialized and therapeutic personal, socioemotional, academic, interest/talent, career, service learning and educational developmental and support services and opportunities on a personalized level throughout the lifespan of the individual as well as for the family. Additional therapeutic services will include speech and language, occupational therapy and other warranted therapeutic services all in one facility.

While we are not an official nonprofit yet, we need the relevant professionals (e.g. nonprofit business managers, administrative executives, therapeutic learning center operational development and implementation personnel, fundraisers, fiscal sponsors, etc.) who have the expertise in nonprofit startup processes and management operational to help us with the actual procedures to initially launch the CLEI and the small-scaled pilot. Therefore, we are conducting a nationwide search to locate and secure those individuals, agencies, corporations, foundations and organizations that will help us bring this endeavor into its fruition.
