ORGANIZATION: Rebuilding Alliance

Rebuilding Alliance seeks a team of talented interns to join us to coordinate our 'Stay Human Conference Calls with Congress' program series. These conference calls bring members of Congress together with constituents to hear from Palestinian and Israeli peacemakers first-hand and find ways to help.

This internship is an excellent next step to build your career in journalism, publishing, policy or even event planning.

You will work with the Advocacy Program Manager to schedule a teleconference twice a month, for an audience of 70-200 people.

The ideal candidate is good with making phone calls, scheduling, and social media, pays attention to technical details, is willing to learn about community-directed policy change, and is keenly interested in peace-making and the Middle East. In addition, you must be able to handle multi-faceted projects, have excellent writing skills, be determined to get busy speakers to send you their bios on time, and be able to process audience registration data. Furthermore, a candidate must be motivated, self-directed, able to meet deadlines, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

We're asking for a minimum commitment of 3 days per week. If you are interested in joining us, please reply with a cover letter addressed to Rebuilding Alliance's Advocacy Program Manager, Tamsin Avra, along with a resume and 3 references.

Thank you again for your interest!

P.S. Here's what Stanford Graduate, Mollie Traver, said about coordinating these conference calls as an intern at Rebuilding Alliance. Mollie got her dream job and is now working in publishing in NYC:

"I always talk about interning with the Rebuilding Alliance as one of my most important, challenging and formative work experiences, especially when I’m in interviews. You asked and expected big things of me right away, and I’m so grateful for that - coordinating a teleconference series, making phone calls to important peacekeepers, offering insights in team meetings, updating our Internet presence. These are skills that I value so highly, and that I’m sure will be so important as I enter this industry [publishing] that is entirely new to me. I would also like to stay in touch with you and Rebuilding Alliance and help in any way I can in the coming years, whether through donations or volunteering my time when I’m back in the Bay Area."
-Mollie Traver, Rebuilding Alliance Intern Emeritus

Description

We learned early-on that to build in war-torn communities one must partner locally with non-governmental organizations that hold the trust of the local community and maintain the highest standards of fiscal and personal integrity.

Everyone who works at Rebuilding Alliance is committed to building peace and justice through programs that make a tangible difference and together, we do our best to make RA a great place to work. Many who have joined RA as interns or in entry-level jobs have gone on to their dream-job or pursued advanced degrees.
