The Center at MIT has a volunteer opportunity for journalists, reporters and/or journalism students. We are seeking a volunteer journalist to document The Center’s work, including our events and workshops. The journalist would need to be available initially from July 25 - 27, 2016 for a 3-day workshop we are running.

The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT is dedicated to inquiry, dialogue, and education on the ethical and humane dimensions of life. As a collaborative and nonpartisan think tank, The Center focuses on the development of interdisciplinary research and programs in varied fields of knowledge, from science and technology to education and international relations. Our programs emphasize responsibility and examine meaningfulness and moral purpose between individuals, organizations, and societies. .
Description
We live more fulfilling lives when we are motivated to make positive contributions to society. The Center’s programs are designed to help us redirect our creative energies into enlightened actions that renew personal motivation and sustain our communities and societies.
The Center develops innovative curricula for teaching ethics and leadership, avoiding prescriptive approaches and using hands-on activities to stimulate reflection and life-transforming personal growth. Our first program began with weekend workshops for MIT undergraduate and graduate students, whose immediate, enthusiastic response revealed an untapped hunger to explore questions of meaningful life purpose and their role as future leaders with huge potential impact in the world.
