If you want to use your professional skills to support at-risk children and youth, then volunteer to be a part of the Camp Laurel Help Team!!
Through the support of our volunteers, Camp Laurel (August 19 - 24) transports children affected by HIV/AIDS to a safe and fun environment where they are free to just be themselves. Our programs enable these at-risk youth to experience the magic and wonders of childhood free from the stresses of their daily lives. Through love, compassion and hope, Camp Laurel teaches children to understand that each one of them has the ability to make his or her life as full and rich as the next child’s regardless of the obstacles that are in their path.
Serving as a Help Team volunteer is a rewarding and challenging experience, one that many volunteers return to year after year. The Help Team provides mental health assessments and interventions including risk assessments, behavior intervention plans, and conflict resolution. Volunteers are required to have a MSW/MFT, experience as a behavior modification expert, 2-3 yrs teacher experience, etc., be comfortable working with adults and children with HIV/AIDS, have good judgment and lots of energy.
