Through generous funding provided by JUF's Chanukah Coat Club, Jewish Child & Family Services (JCFS) and Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) is proud to provide families with new hats, gloves, coats and more this winter season.
The winter clothing clients receive from Project Winter Warmth are often the first new items of clothing clients have received. The impact on self-esteem of having a new item of clothing for the first time cannot be overstated. Help keep clients warm during the cold Chicago winters.
In early fall, clinicians throughout JCFS' many programs speak to clients that have been identified as in need. These programs include foster care, counseling, resettlement services, early childhood and more. Clients share with the clinicians and staff their sizes, favorite colors, characters and other wishes for winter-wear. All of this information is combined and prepped for volunteers to fill these wishes.
