Best Friends National Conference - Share Space Installation Team Lead

The Best Friends National Conference brings together animal rescuers from all over the country to learn about creating No-Kill communities for cats and dogs. One of the most important areas is the Share Space in our exhibit hall. The share space lead would be responsible for leading a team of 3 volunteers to assemble and tear down the booth. You would be working along side staff with instructions on how to assemble.

Reports to: Tina Chaudhry, Marketing Special, Brand Experience

Function/Impact:

• Ideally this person will serve as our "Booth Installation Expert." We’d like them to learn how to assemble and disassemble the new Best Friends Booth Space so at future events in different venues, this person can take the lead and direct others on the assembly and disassembly of the Booth.

Time Commitment and Location of Work:

• Set up on Thursday, July 14th from 8am - 3pm, Exhibit Hall at the Salt Palace in SLC

• Tear down on Saturday, July 16th from 2pm - 6pm, Exhibit Hall at the Salt Palace in SLC

Goals:

• Serve as our "Booth Installation Expert"

• Learn how to assemble and disassemble the Best Friends Booth

• Be able to give direction and supervise a group of volunteers who will help assemble and disassemble the booth space at future events in different venues

• Manage and facilitate returning the correct inventory into each crate for inbound and outbound shipping.

Core responsibilities:

● Learn how to assemble and disassemble the new Best Friends Booth

● Able to direct others on how to assist in assembling and disassembling the new Best Friends Booth Space

● Make sure that the correct inventory is placed back into the correct crates post event.

● Track and input hours worked into the Best Friends volunteer database.

• Able to assist with facilitating shipment post event

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be able to read and interpret booth assembly manual

• Mechanical ability, experience with standard shop tools, hand tools and power tools

• The ability to troubleshoot

• Ability to move and lift heavy objects

• Ability to communicate effectively
