The Third Annual Blood, Sweat & Bacon Time Trial is a bicycle race held in Smithfield and surrounding Isle of Wight County.
Come out and be a part of an intense cycling experience! Watch the best local riders compete on space age looking bicycles pushing themselves to their physical limits.
A time trial is the rider against the clock. Riders leave every 30 seconds or minute (depending on the race) and compete for the best overall time for their category.
Be a most excellent corner marshal ensuring the safety of the cyclists as they fly by keeping all oncoming traffic at bay. There will be several intersections for you to cover, with Smithfield police covering the busiest. Enjoy the country scenery and the oh so fast cyclists on the road.
Join us to see the local cyclists (and triathletes) endure all that blood and sweat to earn their bacon!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide fun, safe and well organized events for our local area cycling teams. We like to bring racers in from out of the area to experience the local culture of the various Virginia cities and enjoy competing in a friendly environment.
All extra proceeds the race brings in goes to our local fire departments, typically those cities that host our races.
Description
Celerity Cycling is an amateur race team based out of Norfolk which spans the Hampton Roads, RVA, and Central, and Northern VA area. Our team members are spanning most age categories as well as competitive categories. We have male and female members and only lack junior members for our team. We are a diverse group and we race as many races as we can together. Individually the team performs well and there is much promise for our members. We have had several members leave our team with significant sponsorships and have succeeded in their cycling pursuits. Several of our cyclists race not only road, but cyclocross and MTB, as well, making this a very diversely talented team. We also have the privledge of several triathletes joining our team.
We host several races a year spanning the spring/summer months and most often get the bid for the Senior State championships, whether it be the road race, criterium or the individual time trial. The races are a great way to gain exposure for our team and bring recognition to our local areas. They have so much to offer.
