ORGANIZATION: Lambert House LGBTQ Youth Center

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 26 people are interested

Lambert House serves hundreds of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning youth each year. Our drop-in space has been described as "home" to thousands of queer youth over the 25 years we have been in our current location, but that home is now in jeopardy!

After renting for 25 years, the beautiful 1902 Victorian house that Lambert House currently occupies was up for sale. We were very lucky to secure a 0% loan to purchase the property in 2016, and have three years left to retire the loan. In addition, our capitol campaign includes a goal to raise funds for deferred maintenance, improvements, expansion for both youth programming space and staff offices, and ongoing facilities care needs.

We are looking for volunteers passionate about helping LGBTQ youth, with experience in fund raising and in particular with capital campaign management. We are looking to fill Capital Campaign Chair or Co-Chair positions, event planning positions, grant writing positions, PR/Marketing positions, and others!

Volunteers supporting the capital campaign should have successful fund raising experience and be able to work as independently as possible. We will teach you about the organization's history, programs & services, and comfortably on-board you. We have a very small paid staff, and small board of directors, so our capacity to provide a high level of direct supervision over projects is very limited.

If you have experience raising money and want to help LGBTQ youth have a warm, comfortable space to be themselves, this is your chance!
