Are you ready to be a hero? Assistance League of Pomona Valley is looking for new members and volunteers to help children and families in the Pomona Valley community.

There are over 3,500 children in Pomona alone who are homeless. The number of children and their families who need our services is increasing daily. ALPV, a local chapter of National Assistance League(r), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization that has been serving our community since 1946. Our chapter provides the following assistance:

  • Operation School Bell(r) provides new clothing to school age children. Many children have worn out and ill-fitting clothing, which negatively impacts their attendance and participation in school. Equipping them with clothing boosts their confidence and increases their participation. Over 1,600 children received socks, underwear, pants, shirts, and jackets in 2022/23 school year.
  • Dental Center provides emergency and maintenance care, including x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals and most prosthetics. In 2022-23 the Dental Center provided over 310 appointments to patients ranging in age from 5 to 93 years old.
  • Assault Survivor Kits(r) provides new clothing, toiletries, and other items to women and children who were victims of assault. Kits are assembled by members of ALPV and distributed by Project Sister.

These philanthropic programs are offered at no cost to low-income families in our community, and are funded through our annual fundraising events, grants and community support!

If you'd like to be part of this wonderful and dedicated organization, please contact us today!

Mission Statement

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives and well being of children and families in our communities.

Description

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is a chapter of the National Assistance League. We are an all volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families throughout the Pomona Valley area.

Each year we hold several fundraising events including a Tea Party and Golf Tournament in order to raise vitally needed funds for our philanthropic programs. We operate a dental clinic that offers free dental care to children, adults and seniors, and we provide new school clothing to children through our Operation School Bell program. We also provide books through our literacy program and family care kits that include household items.

We are always open to new members and volunteers. If you are interested in learning more please contact us at membership@ALPV.org.
