Do you love books? Are you looking for something to do to give back to the community? We might be the place for you. For 46 years the Dayton Book Fair has collected and sold second hand books to benefit other non-profits in our community. We also provide books to literacy campaigns and under served book-reading populations. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 organization. At our "book loft" at 2181 Embury Park Rd in Dayton, we have a number of different volunteer opportunities.

  • Research, sorting, pricing, and packing books (any one or combination of those)
  • Assistance with pick-ups: we have barrels around town, plus we offer a service to pick up book donations from people who aren't able to bring them in.
  • Want to learn how to sell books on eBay? We'll be happy to show you!
We're open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 10 to 3 and Wednesdays from 1 to 7. Our Book Loft is a pleasant climate controlled work environment and we break for ice cream every day. Mission Statement

"The mission of the Book Fair Foundation, Inc. is to receive and collect donated books which we resell through an annual book fair and other channels in order to raise money for a variety of charitable interests. In addition, we also redistribute donated books to schools, clinics, nursing homes, soup kitchens, the county jail, and other entities where books are needed."

Description

The Book Fair Foundation collects donations of books, CDs, DVDs, records, puzzles and games year-round which are priced, sorted and packed for our annual sale in November at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Each year we choose three local non-profit groups to share from the proceeds of the sale. We have supported local groups for over five years; we have 45 years of supporting a single charity, for which we raised over two million dollars.
