Our Tuck-in Calls Program provides extra support to patients and care givers. Volunteers call patients and families to ensure they have enough supplies and medications to last through the weekend.

Calls are made on Thursdays to retrieve a list of requested supplies from our patients and their families. Once the list is collected, it is passed off to another member of the Comfort Hospice team so supplies can be ordered, and delivered, in a timely matter. This program ensures that our patients needs and desires are effectively met each week.

Training and orientation is provided for this opportunity. For more information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, at 972-791-8885 or nreagan@ghospice.com.

Mission Statement

HarmonyCares Hospice serves terminally ill and bereaved persons in our community with integrity, compassion and respect. At HarmonyCares Hospice, we provide family-centered, quality end-of-life care offering a full range of health care services such as medical and nursing care, spiritual and emotional support, social work, personal care, special therapies, volunteer and bereavement services. Grace Hospice is committed to relieving physical, emotional and spiritual pain so that life can be experienced as fully and hopefully as possible.

Description

Hospice volunteers find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Many of our volunteers are introduced to hospice thorough the death of a family member and understand firsthand the value of hospice care, but nearly 20% of volunteers are new to hospice. Volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying but about living.
