Mission Statement

PACT for Animals offers temporary long term foster care for companion pets, when all other avenues for in home foster care has fallen through. Their only other choice, in their eleventh hour, was surrender to a shelter with an uncertain fate. PACT has taken that horrific decision off the table by offering in home temporary foster care for our men and women going on Military deployment. PACT fosters for families of very sick children who are coming to CHOP, St. Christopher's and Nemours/Dupont Children's Hospitals in Philly Region for life saving treatment far from home. Families can stay at Ronald McDonald Houses near these hospitals, but pets are not permitted. Veterans and seniors can also look to PACT for temporary foster care until they can be reunited, for however long it takes.

Description

PACT for Animals is a unique human/animal welfare organization. PACT not only saves the lives of beloved companion pets. PACT gives peace of mind to the families that love them and have no place else to turn. PACT is made up of caring volunteers who offer foster care, do home inspections, work at PACT's office, write grants, do pick-ups and drop offs. PACT also makes sure that every companion pet in our Mission is spayed/neutered. No one in PACT's Foster Program is charged for these services. PACT depends on donations and grants. It is vital to find as many volunteers as possible. PACT gets requests from all over the Country. PACT first was offering services to families in PA, NJ and DE. PACT has been called upon in over 25 states now and counting. Becoming a national organization has been overwhelming but so rewarding. The emotional value of offering a helping hand to families who love their pets and don't want to have to surrender them, is priceless. Our volunteers become repeat fosters, once they see the joy and miracles they have performed in showing what unconditional love is all about. There is never a dry eye in the room at one of PACT for Animals reunions.
