Do you know that 40% of food is being wasted every day and 1 out of 7 Americans are food insecure! Join Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, a non-profit food rescue organization, to rescue food that would otherwise be wasted from restaurants, farmers markets, wholesalers and others sources and to donate it to homeless shelters and soup kitchens in need. RLC relies on volunteers, such as you to rescue food! RLC volunteer rescue efforts are designed to be easily replicable, and easily integrated as a small part of your work/school schedule, taking at most 1-1.5hour per rescue. We need someone to rescue food at the Saugerties Farmers Market every Saturday afternoon from 1-2pm!! Contact siennah.yang@rescuingleftovercuisine.org if interested.

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
