Volunteers will assist operations staff in identifying and addressing facilities concerns to ensure a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for museum patrons and staff.
Volunteers will touch up painting, minor plumbing, electrical and wall repair, equipment and custodial supplies inventory, quantifiable and ongoing assessment of interior cleanliness/exterior appearance and other duties as assigned.Volunteers will be provided with the resources and training necessary to complete their assigned tasks. This includes daily interaction with the director and building engineers. Training and focus on facilities management concepts related to preventative maintenance, capital projects, health and life safety, and inventory control.
Volunteers will gain first-hand experience and knowledge of mechanical systems and facility operations by working directly with the director and with museum building engineers.
Volunteers will work indoors and outdoors (no confined spaces).
Working 16-20 hours per week (Tuesdays-Fridays). Schedule is flexible.
Qualivications include high school diploma/equivalent or higher. Knowledge and/or experience in building trades is a plus.
