Compassion, empathy, openheartedness, and presence are some of the basic needs for a hospice patient and their loved ones.
Your gift as a volunteer is not just about how much time is spent with the dying, but the quality of that human contact with them. In that one hour a week, there is someone who will receive comforting companionship, instead of loneliness and isolation.
Hospice Services of Massachusetts is looking for volunteers to walk with our patients on their path to a new journey. We are looking for:
- Veteran volunteers
- Direct patient care volunteers
- Administrative/office support volunteers
We are looking for volunteers in the Haverhill/Lowell area. Training is provided around your schedule, and we ask for a minimum of a six month commitment on behalf of the patients. I encourage questions.
