JOB SUMMARY:
Acts as after school Coordinator and teacher assistant by providing direct supervision of children Provides direct supervision of children under the supervision of the Lead Teacher. Must insure that all requirements of the licensing agency are met. Assists in coordinating all components of the assigned classroom.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Assists in the planning and implementing the classroom and curriculum program.

2. Insures that the program is geared to the needs of individual children and families, taking into consideration interests, special needs and talents, and individual learning styles

3. Meets the social, emotional, physical and cognitive developmental needs of the children, by implementing individual and group goals, by planning age appropriate activities that are responsive to the assessed needs of the children served.

4. Supervises children at all times, including mealtime, nap time, and outdoor time, etc.

5. Assures that children's basic needs are met: safety, food and water, first aid, comfort, and cleanliness.

6. Helps children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.

7. Assists in maintaining daily records of attendance, meal counts and incident reports.

8. Assists in maintaining a classroom inventory.

9. Considers individual children in relationship to their cultural, linguistic, family configuration and socioeconomic background.

10. Treats children and their families with dignity and respect.

11. Maintains records of children's health, behavior, actions & interactions that could become of concern. Understands D.A.P records.

12. Helps Lead Teacher to complete a focused portfolio on each child in primary care group.

13. Assists parent participants and other volunteers in the classroom.

14. Schedules and participates in parent teacher conferences as requested by Lead Teacher.

15. Attends all staff meeting and recommended training programs.

16. Attending meetings, conferences and workshops of professional organizations appropriate for the developmental level of the children in the classroom.

17. Flexible in ability to move from classroom to classroom as needed.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Be at least eighteen (18) years old. Knowledge of child development and experience working with children preferred.
