We need friendly, outgoing, responsible, dog-loving volunteers to help us handle dogs and speak with the public at this adoption event. We have anywhere from 60-70 dogs in our rescue at any given time and they are all in private foster homes. We do not own or operate a shelter facility. Many fosters have more than one dog so we need people to stand at the event with a foster dog on a leash (puppies will be in puppy pens) in our group and talk with potential adopters as they walk by.
Please note this will be a very large evebt with multiple rescue groups. We are Greater Charlotte SPCA.
We ask that all volunteers arrive 15 minutes early for a brief orientation. We will have 2 shifts for this event:
9:45am - 1:30pm
1:15pm - 5:00pm
Please note that volunteers MUST be over the age of 18.
We provide a brief orientation before the event that covers how to handle the dog(s), how to keep them safe at the event and basic information about our adoption procedures. You are matched with a dog that you will have responsibility for throughout the event - you are given information about the dog (age, training, personality, etc..) from the dog's foster.
We generally can match all volunteers with a dog but occasionally have more volunteers than dogs. If you are not holding a dog, we still need help speaking with potential adopters, answering their questions, helping them fill out adoption applications, etc..
