No one understands what a soldier has experienced - except another soldier.
For those of our patients who are veterans facing advanced disease or end of life, the experiences of military service create unique needs. If you are a veteran (or currently serving but available for a small time commitment), join our Vet-to-Vet Volunteer program and have your life changed forever!
The mission of V Care Hospice Services of Illinois is to provide the ultimate experience to people at the end of life. We are committed to providing the highest quality of patient care and family support with compassion and respect for each individual. Volunteers function as an integral part of the V Care Hospice Services of Illinois team. Our volunteers provide compassionate care to those facing the last days of their life. V Care Hospice Volunteers may work in a variety of capacities, including: Patient Care Volunteers provide personal care or emotional support and practical assistance, which enhance the comfort and quality of life for patients and families/caregivers; Bereavement Volunteers provide anticipatory counseling and bereavement support to families/caregivers; Errands and Transportation Volunteers’ duties may include picking up needed prescriptions or supplies, or grocery shopping.
