The Event Coordinator is responsible for raising funds to cover the operational costs of BHRSC through fundraising events, promotions and online drives. The coordinator presents creative ideas to the Board of possible events which would generate income to BHRSC and takes the lead on assigned fundraising events (Yard Sale and Wine Tasting/Auction events, as well as Virtual Valentines Campaign) according to the yearly fundraising plan. The Fundraising Coordinator also responds to and assesses online inquiries for fundraising opportunities and presents this information to the Board.
The coordinator also assembles a committee to assist in the fundraising efforts and is responsible for promoting and overseeing the events as well as doing needed research, gathering vendors, collecting raffle prizes, etc. as required. They work closely with the Board of Directors (BOD) on event approval and social media and newsletter teams on promoting events as well as the foster and adoption teams as needed. Event Coordinator will track expenses and income for each event they lead and report this information to the BOD and the Donor Development Coordinator for assessment and help with the development of the yearly fundraising plan as needed. The Coordinator is not obligated to help with other fundraising coordinator's lead events but is encouraged to do so.
Coordinator must be available to volunteer at Spring Games held annually in June. This position sits on our Executive Committee and requires participation in a meeting via conference call 2 times per year and an in-person meeting twice per year.

Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California was founded in 1997 and has saved more than 1,800 hounds since our inception. We are all volunteer run and operate with the help of more than 70 dedicated volunteers.
