No experience is necessary if you are willing and eager to learn. It is a plus if you have some experience with horses or children with special needs, but it is not necessary. We have volunteers help get the kids ready for lessons, groom horses, help tack up, help lead or side walk during the lessons, do barn chores, and so much more! Schedule a tour to talk more about volunteer opportunities -- you won't be disappointed!

Description
Welcome to Scooter's Place!
Scooter’s Place is a local non-profit organization serving the children’s community, especially those who need just a little more patience, including children on the Autism spectrum, children with anxiety disorders and those with Down Syndrome. Scooter’s Place is neither a therapeutic barn nor a mainstream barn but somewhere in between, offering a fun and flexible, but structured and safe environment to learn in. We offer horsemanship education that teaches life skills, self-confidence, and body awareness in a non-restrictive and non-judgmental barn environment.
