Play-Place Autism and Special Needs Center is an amazing new center for children and young adults affected by autism and other special needs challenges. We need patient and caring volunteers to assist with the families that visit us daily. Impact projects include:
- Share your passion for arts & crafts in our Art Studio
- Guide creative projects in our Lego Room
- Assist in our Computer Cafe
- Work with students to complete a pre-planned fun activity at one of their field trips to Play-Place
- and much more!

You will need to attend Volunteer Training before beginning to volunteer. You can sign up for Volunteer Training from the link above and click on the tab that says "Volunteer Training". Please arrive to training 15 minutes early to complete a short volunteer application. You will also need to bring your picture identification (Driver's License, Student ID, Passport, State ID) for background check purposes.

Play-Place Autism and Special Needs Center's mission is to provide a fun-filled, judgment-free, haven of hope for families affected by autism and other special needs. Through a unique play-powered environment, we combine recreation and education with a variety of social, occupational and physical therapeutic overtones. Our one-of-a-kind destination focuses on development, life skills, independence, respite relief, resource management and vocational rehabilitation to assist families the everyday nuances of "living with autism." Play-Place’s bottom line is inclusion, acceptance and support. Our Vision: Play-Place’s vision is to pioneer experiences that combine the magic of hope with the power of play and recovery. Our focus is to become the world’s premier destination for autism and special needs relief.
Description
Our 17,000 square foot, one-of-a-kind facility, consists of a computer cafe for interactive academic skill building & communication; an "Art of Autism" Art Studio for creative expression, art therapy, peer relationship building and self-esteem enrichment; music and movement activities, a Haircut Hut for a soothing, grooming experience; a Bistro/coffee shop for that "me-too" conversation, sharing & a chance to exhale; and much more!
