Project Hope is a year round project where volunteers lovingly create tote bags that are filled with educational information and comforting items (shawl, pillow, etc.), to individuals newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
We are in search of volunteers who can offer their time and talent to sew the beautifully crafted tote bag. Tote bags are sewn at the volunteers home, at their convenience. Once completed, the Project Hope bags are returned to the office and prepared for distribution to newly diagnosed residents. Volunteers also sew mini pillows which provide comfort to patients after breast cancer surgeries, such as lumpectomies and mastectomies. The mini pillows provide post-surgery relief and comfort.
In addition to sewers we are looking for individuals who can offer their time and talents to knit (or crochet) the shawls which are included in the Project Hope bag.
The shawls offer warmth and comfort to patients as they endure their treatment. The shawls embrace them as "a warm hug" from the caring volunteers who contribute their talents to this program...many of whom are breast cancer survivors themselves.
