Turn Orlando Turquoise! The American Lung Association Central Florida LUNG FORCE initiative is looking for diverse leaders interested in making a strong and meaningful impact to join the 2017 LUNG FORCE Cabinet. Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both women and men in America, and yet, it is not easily identified as such by the general public. • To make lung cancer a cause people care about and act on.

  • To educate and empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

  • To raise critical funds for lung cancer research.

The LUNG FORCE 2017 Cabinet will be responsible for planning and executing the following:

  • LUNG FORCE Run/Walk: Saturday, May 6 th, 2017 at Baldwin Park’s Harbor View - a 5K run and walk event bringing LUNG FORCE Heroes, corporate teams, friends, and families together to celebrate the movement.

  • National Women’s Lung Health Week & Turquoise Takever: Monday, May 8 th- Friday, May 12 th, 2017 - the local arm of the LUNG FORCE Campaign involving several areas of public awareness and raising funds, including:

    • Engaging local media and public officials to wear turquoise in honor of LUNG FORCE

    • Securing speaking opportunities (television, radio, print, presentations) to help raise the awareness of this important issue

    • Engage local businesses to become involved in the turquoise movement (host a give back night, featuring a turquoise item, etc).

Meetings occur the 2 nd Tuesday of the month, 12-1pm with lunch provided for in-person meetings.

For more than 120 years, people living in America have trusted the American Lung Association to protect their lungs, whether it is researching treatments & cures for lung disease, keeping kids off tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or advocating for laws that protect the air well all breathe. Because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
