Volunteers will largely help support day to day operations inside of the office. This will include cold calling local furniture and delivery truck companies to secure future donations and establish conenctions. Volunteers will document all interactions over the phone in google sheets. Volunteers may also speak with caseworkers over the phone and coordinate with the warehouse manager on completing and staging orders.
Volunteers may also help with the unloading of trucks and staging furniture orders.

Mission Statement
The Houston Furniture Bank collects home furnishings and distributes them at no cost to families and individuals who have found housing through a social service agency or are assisted through a non-profit community organization. Our mission is to furnish hope and turn "empty houses" into "homes" making the road to independent living more manageable and the likelihood of success more probable.
Description
Since 1992, The Houston Furniture Bank has received the assistance of major furniture companies and organizations in the Hou ston metropolitan area. We have gained the support of major businesses with corporate sponsorships, and from local media with news coverage of our events. The Furniture Bank of Houston is a founding member of the National Furniture Bank Association.
Since its establishment, The Houston Furniture Bank has helped an estimated number of 40,000 individuals and families in our community. On average each year, we serve more than 900 families with furniture and other necessary household items. However, hundreds of requests continue to go unmet due to inadequate resources.
