TechSandBox is seeking qualified applicants to serve on its Board of Directors.

As TechSandBox enters its next phase of growth, we seek leaders who have had significant, personal impact on the region and on its technology sectors.

The region we serve spans I-495, I-90, Rt.9 and Rt.2 and was once world renown and a destination for innovation. TechSandBox seeks to revitalize this by attracting and growing tech startups in a comprehensive ecosystem and acting as a catalyst for additional growth.

Mission statement: TechSandBox is a comprehensive technology incubator with the mission of accelerating the success of science and technology entrepreneurs, serving those primarily based near the I495/ I90 MetroWest corridors of Massachusetts.

The goal of TechSandBox is to facilitate access to information, expertise, knowledge and support for sci-tech entrepreneurs while inspiring the sense of community needed to attract, grow and retain new, sci-tech sector businesses in the immediate region, helping startups to stay and grow.

To do this, we seek executives who have a legacy of creating these companies.

Mission Statement

Our Mission: Accelerate the success of science and technology entrepreneurs and serve as the destination for people in technology in MetroWest. We facilitate access to the information, resources, expertise and connections necessary to grow innovative businesses.

Description

The initial impetus behind TechSandBox included the founder's personal experience wasting 2+ hours every time she headed to downtown Boston in order to increase her knowledge of business and entrepreneurship, or to mentor and advise others. She asked hundreds of people wit hin the 35+ towns where most experienced STEM professionals live. The conclusions, based on the factors below, were an overwhelming 'we need it':

  • Lifestyle choices compel people to choose to live in MetroWest

  • Most science and technology professionals in the region have valuable experience that could increase their chances of success as an entrepreneur or as an intrapreneur

  • There is a gap of support and community for those in science and technology, regardless of functional expertise or company size, compelling MetroWest residents to spend 20% of their already-long-day commuting inside Rt. 128

Services are not organized for easy access by science and tech startups (anywhere, including MetroWest); there's no place to 'hang out' with like minded people Products & Services
Co-working space: where we bring the resources to our resident entrepreneurs.

Experts On Site™: advice delivered by topic or functional experts, pro bono, for Members.

Weekly programs: panels, and workshops for entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs across industries, function,
and stage, for the public!
