Volunteers are needed to provide one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare who have questions about their prescription drug coverage and/or need help joining a Medicare prescription drug plan. Volunteers are also needed as ombudsmen in nursing homes and assisted living centers. Another area involves giving a presentation to community groups on Medicare fraud.

As a private non-profit corporation, the Area Agency on Aging, plans, coordinates, develops and delivers services for seniors (60 years and older), advocates for seniors in long term care, and helps with other long-term care needs, and family caregivers of older adults.
Description
Our organization is providing free, one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare and their families via telephone and face-to-face sessions, public education presentations and other programs. Volunteers are also needed to help advocate for patients in long term care settings. Another volunteer opportunity involves giving a presentation to community groups on Medicare fraud.
