In order to enrich the lives of both rescue dogs/cats and senior citizens who need a little help caring for their pets, Desert Paws has started our, " Pets 4 Seniors" program. Essentially rescue dogs or cats would get a great home and the senior's family member/designated contact person continues communication with us. The volunteer will check on the pet weekly/monthly.
We are seeking Social Workers, Retired Social Workers, Social Worker instructors, and Social worker students to participate in the program.
The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, animal handling skills, knowledge of proper care for pets, very open communication, a flexible schedule, and the ability to do checkups in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho or Santa Fe areas.

We are a 501c3 organization and work with the animals of 3 Indian tribes (pueblos) in New Mexico (USA) - we have our 'Door2Door' spay/neuter program (running successfully 4 years now), provide emergency medical care, rehabbing, rehoming, education, disease prevention, vaccine schedules, etc
