RSVP focuses on helping economically disadvantaged individuals in need of safe and affordable housing. RSVP partners with Habitat for Humanity Fox Cities to this end. If you are looking for an opportunity where you can grow and develop AND have a lot of fun, consider Habitat for Humanity. Some of the nicest (and goofiest) people volunteer with Habitat. Ask about their Red Shirt Breakfast. This is a great way to develop new friendships.
Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities also has some construction needs but also maintenance needs. This is a great way to support individuals and families as they gain knowledge and skills to become successful renters and home owners. If you ever needed a hand up, you will understand the need for this transitional housing program.
Have you heard the term "aging-in-place?" Working with Rebuilding Together Fox Valley you will be a catalyst for this movement. Redesigning homes and adding safety features so that older adults and those with disabilities can remain independent and have choices about their lifestyle, is a great effort to be a part of.

Description
Make a Difference in Your Community
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
