Our 17th Annual Walk for Wishes event brings together Wish Families, Volunteers and Community Supporters to raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish. All funds raised by this noncompetitive, family friendly walk stay right here to grant wishes in our local community.
We will be offering multiple volunteer roles and ways to ensure the success of this event. Please sign up for an opportunity that you will enjoy and can commit to for the duration of the shift.
The walk will be located at the California State Capitol, West Steps, 10th Street and Capitol Mall (please note this is slightly different from last year).
There will be a pre-event training offered on August 4, 2016 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. to better prepare you for your role and give you the opportunity to meet your staff leads for the event. Please plan to join us for this training.
Please direct any questions to our Volunteer Manager at nmenicucci@necannv.wish.org or 916-692-3929.
Thank you for supporting this event and sharing the power of a wish!

Mission Statement
Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Description
Our Make-A-Wish chapter grants one wish every three days in the Central California region. Volunteers throughout our chapter support our mission work in wish granting, special events, community relations, corporate fundraising, community awareness and other critical areas. Volunteers work in local communities by impacting the lives of Central California children. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available. It is important to note that during this time, we have made volunteer orientations and trainings readily available virtually for the health and safety of everyone.
Wish Granter
Wish Granters work in teams of two as a liaison between a wish family and Make-A-Wish. They help determine a child's wish and play an instrumental role in helping to turn the wish into reality. You must be at least 21 years old, complete Wish Granter training, and be able to make two or more visits to the family during the course of the wish process. Wish Visits have recently become available to do virtually as well.
