Description
FIRE, FLOOD, MICROBURST -- The Arizona Red Cross responds to a disaster every 15 hours. Disaster Action Team Members provide on-call, immediate assistance to victims of local disasters such as house fires or flooding. On call duties are typically one out of every four weeks (full-time or part-time, based on your schedule) and include providing emergency food, clothing and shelter to victims of disaster.
Duties are shared among team members during on-call weeks, so you are not required to go on every call, but calls can happen any time day or night--weekday or weekend. You can customize your volunteer availability to fit within YOUR life style. You may be involved in on-scene casework, damage assessment, or arranging the hotel stay.
Disaster Action Teams are located in all areas of the state.
