Be a source of information for people with Medicare questions. The Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) is a state-based program that offers local one-on-one counseling and assistance to people with Medicare and their families. Through federal grants, SHIBA provides free counseling and assistance via telephone and face-to-face interactive sessions, public education presentations and programs, and media activities. Trained counselors offer information, counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries on a wide range of Medicare and Medicaid matters. There are multiple volunteer opportunities with our local Whatcom SHIBA, read more about becoming a part of our team.

SHIBA Data Specialist

Would you consider yourself detailed oriented and organized? Tech savvy with good attention to numbers and target goals? As a SHIBA Data Specialist, you would play an integral role on ensuring accuracy of data and supporting our program goals that further promote our mission. We are driven by our two-part mission of providing local access services, while fostering public participation and meaningful system change.

Description

WAHA is a nonprofit organization based in Bellingham, Washington, whose mission is to connect people to health care and facilitate transformation of the current system into one that improves health, reduces cost and improves the experience of care. It is our vision that Whatcom County enjoys a health care system that benefits the entire community.

WAHA is dedicated to promoting access to health care services for all members of our community. We do this by providing resources to those who need assistance getting health care or obtaining health insurance, providing information to elected officials and decision makers about health care policies, convening community stakeholders, and by facilitating the transformation of the health care system.
