Fleece fabric needed for Head Start blanket project

ORGANIZATION: Boulder County Justice Services Volunteer Program

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We need your help gathering new/remnant fleece fabric in 1.5yd minimum lengths in order to achieve our goal of making 125 no-sew "nap" sacks for children in the Head Start Program for Boulder County. We still need 188 yards to do this:

It can be assorted, different patterns and colors. It can all be from different sources, however, each piece DOES need to be in a continuous 1.5 yd section for each blanket to be made without using a sewing machine. We have put a request in with Joann’s Fabrics to donate the fabric under our Community Action Program's 501 (C) (3) non-profit status, and have requested help from a local church that donates holiday presents to our kids, but so far, have had no luck.

Can you help us collect that fabric? Would you like to help create the "nap" sacks for the fall Head Start program children? Our goal is to have them all made by the middle of August, just in time for the beginning of school. We'd be grateful for your help!

Please email meldred@bouldercounty.org if you can help. Time is running out!
