Join us at the CCJ Thrift Store! No prior experience required to volunteer!
Importance to the mission: CCJ’s Thrift Store is reliant on item donations that come in from local businesses and individuals. These donations are sorted and then resold in the Thrift Store. The donation attendant is a valuable asset to CCJ and is the one who receives and sorts donations. Revenue received from operation of the Thrift Store provides funding for CCJ’s other programs which work to meet vital needs and provide education and advocacy for those living in poverty.
Location: CCJ’s Thrift Store Thrift Store, 1034 Fair St., Prescott
Open Hours:Monday through Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 9am-4pm
Key Responsibilities:
Greet donors who stop by to drop off items
Receive and carry in donations
Sort and inventory donated items
Price items
Help carry heavy items from back room to store display area
Other duties as requested
Desired Attributes:
Excellent customer service skills
Positive personality
Enjoys working behind the scenes
Helpful attitude
Time commitment: 1 month minimum; at least one 3 hr shift per week
Requirements:
Attend orientation and placement interview
At least 16 years of age
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to lift at least 40 lbs
Dress code: Casual
No revealing clothing
Must wear CCJ apron (provided onsite at the Thrift Store) and closed-toe shoes
This position reports to: Thrift Store Manager
Job-specific training provided onsite
Hours & scheduling to be discussed at placement interview

- Mentorship for individuals and families who want to break the cycle of poverty
- Advocacy for systemic changes that foster a fair and just community, and
- Gap-analysis of community services to target and address the needs of those in our community who are left behind.
