The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), as a part of Edu-Futuro, a non-profit organization, is looking for young professionals in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland area to mentor High School students of immigrant backgrounds at one of our three sites: Fairfax, Falls Church and Arlington.
ELP is a multi-workshop program that focuses on leadership development, college preparation, and community involvement for Latino and other immigrant youth in grades 9 through 12. You will provide your assigned student "crews", with whom you will provide valuable advice in areas such as public speaking, goal setting, advocacy, and career planning.
Since 2006, ELP has worked to empower Latino and other first generation immigrant college-bound youth. In addition, ELP, under Edu-Futuro, has engaged families through education and leadership development programs to insure academic and economic success for the immigrant community. Description
Edu-Futuro is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by Bolivian parents and educators to address the educational needs of the growing Latino population. We offer programs that empower immigrant families through education. We offer: the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) which is a youth leadership and college preparation program, 9-12 Grades; STEM/Robotics, upper elementary, middle school, and high school (4-12); as well as parent and family programs. And we welcome volunteers in all our programs!
