Currently there are approximately 410,312 people in Colorado living with diabetes. That’s over 10% of the population! The prevelance of this disease is on the rise and there is currently no cure. But Tour de Cure Colorado is an annual walk, run or cycle event to raise money to Stop Diabetes and further the mission of the American Diabetes Association. Ultimately, the Tour de Cure Colorado is an event to raise funds for education, programs, research and advocacy and to recognize, highlight and empower those living every day with diabetes while raising awareness surrounding diabetes. By volunteering for Tour de Cure, you will be doing a great part to improve the lives of those affected by diabetes. Simple things like a smile or an offer of a beverage can go a long way to a person who daily is battling a chronic disease for which there is currently is no prevention or cure. To learn more about the event, visit www.tourdecurecolorado.com. WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the afternoon to prepare for Race Day. Tour de Cure is expecting over 3,500 riders and walkers for the event so their volunteer needs are great! Each volunteer position is listed seperately in the Registration section. These tasks help in staging and preparation for the event bright and early the following morning.
