Woodlands Garden showcases a very diverse plant collection and the small staff work to maintain the 7 acre property. As the seasons change and the plants grow many volunteers are needed to keep the Garden mulched, weed-free, watered, pruned, raked, lush, colorful, and safe...Wil you come help?
Volunteers who help with the daily gardening tasks, called Horticulture Volunteers, typically volunteer on Wednesday mornings, but we are willing to work with your schedule. No prior experience is needed, but volunteers need to be prepared to listen to instructions so you can learn the "Woodlands' Way" to garden maintenance. Volunteers are provided with gloves and all tools necessary to complete the task at hand.
Potential Horticulture Volunteer tasks:
- Planting, weeding, watering
- Digging
- Pruning
- Hauling debris
- Mulching beds & paths
- Transplanting plants from one area of Garden to another
- Soil prep
- Plant identification
