ORGANIZATION: The Actors Theatre Workshop

Interns receive hands-on training in non-profit business management in an award-winning theater arts and community service organization. The interns' primary responsibility is to manage the daily administrative operations of the organization and to take a leadership role in programming initiatives. There will be opportunities to work closely with the Senior Staff in administrating and producing on-going classes and workshops for professional actors and community programs that serve homeless children and Youth-at-Risk. Under the supervision

of the ATW staff, interns will be accountable for the completion of projects in management of ATW's studio rental business, theater administration, team management, marketing, development, sales, fund-raising, video production, event planning, graphic design as well as the daily operations of the organization.

Actors Theatre Workshop is an established pioneer in non-profit conservatory theatre committed to training actors, writers and directors and developing new work for the stage and film. ATW is also a highly regarded community service organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of homeless children and the community at large. ATW's mission is to teach individuals from all works of life original creative techniques that provide them with the tools to change and to create new, original theatre that examines the conflicts that have emerged from today's cultural mix.

Description

Founded over two decades ago, the Actors Theatre Workshop is an established pioneer in non-profit theatre that produces classical and contemporary plays, develops new dramatic works, trains and develops actors, directors and writers while making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth and the community at large. Thurman E. Scott, ATW's artistic director, Executive Producer and Founder, is a widely acknowledged expert of artistic project development, an innovator of award-winning arts curriculums and programs for proffessional artistic training, and has a long and successful history of public service to culturaly under-served communities.
