Mission Statement
The H.O.P.E. Institute (H.I) is an emerging Nonprofit Corporation whose mission is to provide a center of excellence for economically disadvantaged and underserved members of society. H.I's debut initiative is to facilitate the transition from dependency to self-sufficiency for El Paso County's Female Veterans with and without dependent children who need a place to call home!
Description
We will launch the Displaced Female Veterans Initiative (DFVI) by debuting El Paso's first Houses of Peace (HoP). A House of Peace (HoP) is a single family home located in the residential areas into which these ladies will ultimately transition. H.I will facilitate the transition from dependency to self-sufficiency by providing housing, food, transportation, clothing, training and an extensive educational curriculum for female Veterans who need a "hand up"! HoPs are located in safe and secure environments that are drug and alcohol free, with access to public transportation, the VA hospital, Fort Bliss, shopping, schools and more. Upon completion of the program (18 months in duration), the residents will have the tools required to gain employment and transition to permanent housing.
