The Duck Race to End Racism's Maker Hall will host 1000-1500 people for hands-on fun with our NASA Solar Ambassador and so many other great people! Whether they want to use the special telescope to view the sun's prominences, build and test foil boats, find out what's inside a computer keyboard, make crazy bubble blowers, or plant some beans, our Maker Hall is THE place to come. If you love to ham it up, we even have sandwich-boarded Ambassadors who pretend to be the planets and talk about space!

Volunteers host Adventures with kits containing all the supplies, a guide, and everything you need for inspiring families to become explorers. From simple activities like sorting for fossils and building with Brackitz to helping Dr. Allis with his telescopes, you will make a tremendous difference in the experiences of the children and adults who play at your Adventure.

Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and free lunch from the Duck Race, too!

Sign up with VolunteerMatch, then go to www.YingTRSEF.org/makerhall to check out the Adventure Kits.

Youth, you'll log seven hours of service learning.
Adults, you'll discover a whole world of fun in science, technology, engineering and math and become part of a network of advocates across Upstate NY accessing the Maker kits for all sorts of events.

Mission Statement

The Dr. Nelson Ying Tri Region Science and Engineering Fair started with a science fair for 27 Upstate New York counties. Every county now has a nearby fair we partnered or founded! Now we throw "great community science parties" with Maker Halls. Ying TRSEF also offers consulting services to precollegiate programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to manage science fairs, host Maker Halls, write grants, and provide professional development.

Description

The Ying TRSEF serves NYS students, educators, and the broader community as we focus on STEM education - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Gathering classroom teachers, leaders from the skilled trades, scientists and engineers in industry, professors at community colleges and four-year institutions, and many other advocates, the Ying TRSEF cooperates with each to engage the young people who will become the next generation in our nation's STEM workforce.
