Mrs. V goes to the doctor!
Since her family lives far away, and her husband has passed, Mrs. V really appreciates a lift to her doctor appointments.

Ongoing, Local, Micro-Volunteering Opportunity! ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth is seeking volunteers with weekday availability to drive home-bound seniors and younger adults with disabilities to local doctor appointments. These appointments are generally scheduled M-F, 8 am to 5 pm.

The volunteer picks the rider up at their home, takes them to the appointment, then returns them to their home. The rider may or may not need to be accompanied into the appointment for support. The total time from the volunteer's home and back is usually about 2 hours.

The volunteer can take assignments that fit into their schedule on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Any amount of rides you are able to provide keeps a person in their home longer, and is greatly appreciated! Please call Brandon Trombetta at 610-525-0706 with questions.

Mission Statement

To help older and younger disabled adults who have low-moderate incomes remain living independently in their homes by providing free volunteer, social work, food and emergency help.

Description

ElderNet provides volunteer-based services such as door to door escort driving to medical appointments, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies and other essential errands. We also provide friendly visits or calls, odd jobs, small home repairs, and help with managing checkbooks and bills. These volunteer services are free and available to older and younger disabled adults living in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough in Montgomery County, PA. Income guidelines also apply for volunteer-based services. ElderNet also operates a food pantry and provides emergency financial assistance to qualifying Lower Merion Township residents (income and residency restrictions apply). Our information and referral services are open to anyone. We also have new and evolving services that further contribute to helping older and disabled younger adults remain living in their own homes. We collaborate with other agencies and have a very active advocacy committee.
