We are Southwest Youth Services (SYS), an Albuquerque based 501(c)3 organization that partners with Native American communities across New Mexico to create and support the implementation of positive community based programs through education, health & wellness, youth leadership and service learning.
SYS will be hosting its10thAnnualIndigenousSoccerCup (ISC), a National Native Youth Leadership Conference, being held July 20-24, 2016, with a mandatory (9am-4pm) training on July 19, 2016, in Albuquerque, NM. This week long event not only involves the game of soccer for Native youth ages 10-19, but it also offers a variety of positive youth development, life skills, college preparation workshops and service learning projects that the youth have to participate in. We anticipate approximately 160 youth, plus chaperones and coaches, to be a part of this years ISC.
We are in need of 50 volunteers, from in and around the Albuquerque area, to help our SYS staff with various tasks each day for the duration of this event. The ISC requires a lot of hard work, dedication and long hours, but in the end, the ISC a fun, interactive and very rewarding event to be a part of!
If you are interested in volunteering for the ISC, please contact Lloyd Felipe at 505-235-4201 or lloyd@sysnm.org.
Thank you for your time!
